1. Tech Integration
Integrated Studies in Honolulu: Moanalua High School

Technology is the tool of the future; in fact it could be considered the tool of today. It is used today in the classroom to help teachers better inform and teach kids. Tools have always been important throughout history and in improving a civilization and helping it progress. Multimedia technology such as computers, smart boards, videos, and even soundtracks or music are being integrated into more and more classrooms every year. It’s hard to keep kids attention these days and with new and innovative technology this can be obtained. Using things like power points, videos, and internet websites excites the youth. It not only catches the eye of students in an artistic and different way but can help them actually learn the information being portrayed through this multimedia technology. Along with being aesthetically pleasing to the eye it can also boost participation among students. Assigning a video project can be much more intriguing and appealing then assigning a written paper. Same goes with kids being lectured with a power point then with reading from a textbook or from notes.
The video I watched made it a point that kids became more involved with video and audio projects in a public school in Hawaii. With the times changing and technology having an immaculate boom in everyday lives of people, it becomes evident that the classroom and the future of teaching must accept this change and incorporate technology integration in the classroom. With any subject or level of teaching technology must become a part of the teaching and learning process because the whole world is becoming more technologically advanced. A big part of learning for the youth is not only learning math, science, and history but life skills as well. With technology improving and impacting people at the rate it is, this makes technology integration very important to not only students but to the teachers as well. In the classroom I plan on using technology in numerous ways. Power points will be a normal way of delivering information to my students. I believe videos are a great tool used as a way of learning and a way to switch up my teaching style. Using programs such as excel for keeping grades is a great way to organize and keep accounts of grades. Assigning projects that include the kids to make their own power points and teaching them how to do efficient research on the internet is also important in a history class. Research is a huge factor in writing and even learning history so students should know how to use the computer and how to research in the most efficient manor.
